These j channel pieces are used as trim and locking in the soffit panel. J channel gets fastened to the building in a number of ways. Masonry nails are used to fasten to brick, while screws and nails are used to fasten to wood. J channel is 12 ft. long and measures 1 5/8" x 1/2" x 3/4" and is made from .019" pre-painted aluminum.
